In Loving Memory of Mariel Exilas January 29, 1949 – May 1, 2026 With profound sadness and heartfelt gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Mariel Exilas, who departed this life on May 1, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on January 29, 1949, she was the beloved daughter of Josephine Charles and Tevan Charles. Mariel was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, great-grandmother, and treasured friend. Her life was defined by her unwavering love for her family, her strength, kindness, and generous spirit. She touched the lives of all who knew her with her warm heart, gentle wisdom, and enduring faith. Her greatest joy was spending time with her loved ones and watching her family grow through the generations. She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Edner Exilas, and her loving children: Lucille Pierre, Estancia Rochelien, Rosette Rochelien, Adner Rochelien, and Lickson Charles. Mariel was the proud grandmother of Joslie Jerome, Cherlie Joseph, Guevhny Desvilles, Berlencie Charles, Tonysha Francois, Lucario Francois, Darlene Jerome, Danson Jerome, Joshua Jerome, David Jerome, Chelda Jerome, Martin Rochelien, Benson Rochelien, Ni'Keysha Celhomme, Sheinia Celhomme, Jean Berry Ansel, Jacques Mytro Ansel, Sendal Ansel, John Rochelien, Nikalie Rochelien, Matthew Rochelien, and Nicheka Rochelien. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy: Alexandra Joseph, Elijah A. Joseph, Mike S. Leonel, Kimie D. Filama, Kevin K. Joseph, and Jean Mary Ansel. She is also lovingly remembered by her sons-in-law, Tony Francois, Daniel Jerome, and Jackson Ansel; her daughter-in-law, Celiar Rochelien; her nieces and nephews, Anicia Charles, Glonise Charles, Odane Innocent, Voltita, Adinia, Lewis, Lewis Sel, Rozina, and Alinda; her cousins Anatte, Maxo, Emil, and many other extended family members and dear friends whose lives she touched throughout the years. Though Mariel has departed from this earthly life, the love she shared, the values she instilled, and the memories she created will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her legacy of compassion, devotion, and family will continue to inspire future generations. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.
