Thomas Allen Orie, Sr., age 94, of Orlando, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on December 23, 2025. Born on April 20, 1931, in Hartford, Connecticut, Tom lived a life marked by faith, dedication, and quiet strength. He loved Jesus deeply and faithfully served at Faith Assembly of God as a board member and usher for many years before leaving to help start River of Life a home missions church pastored by his granddaughter, Danielle, and her husband, Kevin. His life reflected generosity, patience, compassion, and kindness – traits that all who knew him experienced firsthand. Tom was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather (“Poppa”), and cherished great-grandfather. He had a mischievous but warm smile, a quick wit, and a gentle presence that immediately made people feel at ease. He was the best at giving advice and loved being with his family. His Life’s Work Tom knew the value of hard work and perseverance and helped on the family farm. During World War II, he left school to help run the farm while his older brothers were off fighting for our country. He later served in Germany during the Korean War and afterwards worked hard to receive his GED and later became an electrical engineer. He worked at Pratt and Whitney in Connecticut and then moved his family of five to Winter Garden, Florida to work at Martin Marietta. His family of five grew to six with the birth of his only Florida-born son, Tim. He later worked for Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company where he enjoyed great success. He was a prominent businessman in Winter Garden for many years serving in the Jaycees and as a member of the Resurrection Catholic Church. Owning his own business was a lifelong dream for Tom, and that dream became a reality when he purchased Superior Aluminum in Winter Park, Florida. There he built a successful company with integrity and dedication. He began each workday with prayer and a devotion alongside his employees – a practice that continues today and remains part of his enduring legacy. Tom used his engineering skills and became an inventor. He invented an insulating secondary roof system which he received a patent for on September 27, 1982. He could repair anything, and even on his days off, he would work around the house. He was rarely idle. Tom lived his life with humility and purpose. He loved his family fiercely, worked diligently, and trusted God faithfully. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alice; his parents, Eva and John: his brothers, Jack, Dean, and Bob; and his first-born son, Tommy. We rejoice in the promise of eternal life through Christ. “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:33 Tom is survived by his wife, Beverly Morrison. He is also survived by his children: Alice Stephens (Carl), his daughter-in-law Rosaleny Orie, Terry Orie (Lorraine), Christine Rowland (Sam), Todd Orie (JoEllen), and Tim Orie (Gina); and his grandchildren: Danielle Quinones (Kevin), Joshua Stephens (Mandi), Carla Hylton (Mark), Jason Rowland (Danielle), Stacie Maus (David), Matthew Rowland (Nicole), Tatiana Orie-McCarty (Rob), Taylor Orie, Tara Orie (Troy Beckham), Beba Orie (Cameron Migliore), Azurae Orie, Cameron Orie, Summer Orie, Sierra Orie, and Skylar Orie, and great-grandchildren: Karli Quinones, Kassi Quinones, Easton Stephens, Tinley Stephens, Everly Stephens, Truit Stephens, Tatum Stephens, Raegan Hylton, Reid Hylton, Logan Rowland, Noah Rowland, Jace Rowland, Ava Maus, Ella Maus, Selah Maus, Wyatt Maus, Aisley Hill, Tyler Hill, and Maverick Orie.
