Shawn Lee Centers, 60, of Orlando, Florida passed away on August 29, 2020. He was born on December 8, 1959 in Middletown, Ohio. Shawn is survived by his fiancé, Colleen Perigo; son, Christian Lee Centers; father, Thurman Lee Centers (wife Pheobe) of Mt. Sterling, KY; sister, Bonnie Louise Short (husband Bill) of West Carrollton, OH; sister, Lucinda “Cindy” Marie West (husband Tim) of Conroe, TX, formerly of Orlando, FL; cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family. He was predeceased by his mother Connie Louise Centers of Leesburg, FL; and wife Cathy Darlene “Dee” Centers of Orlando,FL Shawn graduated from Middletown High School in Middletown, Ohio in 1977. He lived in Ft. Oglethorpe, GA for a few years, where he worked for Badcock Furniture and also met his wife. As he showed her sites like Lookout Mountain where she had never been, they fell in love. They later moved with their son to Orlando, Florida to be closer to extended family. That is where they would live for the remainder of their lives. They dedicated their lives to the Lord. Shawn’s family attended Friends Community Church in Orlando, FL when it was a new church start-up by his brother-in-law (Tim), where they developed long-lasting friendships. Most people are fortunate to find true love once, but Shawn found love again. About a year after the passing of his wife, Shawn met Colleen through an online dating site. They were engaged to be married. Shawn took some classes to learn more about computers, but much of his knowledge was self-taught. His primary career was working for siemens then later Atos securing the online platform as a security technician creating employee identification cards to access their servers. He also had a business on the side designing and maintaining websites. He was always tinkering with computers and technology. He enjoyed music and learned how to play the piano by ear. When his childhood piano teacher realized he wasn’t reading music she refused to work with him any longer, but he never gave up his love for music! Shawn was a quiet individual with a subtle and dry sense of humor evident to those closest to him. At family gatherings he was usually found behind a camera, observing from the sidelines and bringing chuckles with his rare but witty comments. He loved his family and devoted all his time to them. He will be sorely missed by family and friends.
