Paulette A. Moore (nee Smith), a decorated military leader, devoted matriarch, and cherished wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2025, at the age of 65, in her home, in Orlando, Florida, leaving behind an unparalleled legacy. Paulette is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Eric S, Moore; daughters, Lynette R. Hopkins, Tiffanie N. Woods, Trenda M. Smith (Karseen), and Eric S. Moore II (Shabre); cherished grandmother of Justin K. Fludd, Josiah L Fludd, Jordan Moore, Sunday Moore, Summer - Joy Moore, and Steven Smith; her siblings, Leon Smith, Andrew Smith (Valarie), Colin Smith (Carol, and Charlene Moore; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Born on November 6, 1960, in Georgetown, Guyana, South America, Paulette was the daughter of Catherine Felix Howard (AKA Urleen Adams), Leon Linton Smith (affectionately known as "Smithy") and Olive Smith, her loving stepmother. She migrated with her family to the United States in the early 1970's, proudly embracing her American Citizenship. Paulette immersed herself in education and extracurricular activities, including running track, music, and singing. She accomplished this all while attending Hunter College of nursing and working at a community bank. In 1979, at the age of 19, Paulette answered the call to serve her country and became a single mother enlisting in the United States Army. Her discipline, intelligence, and unwavering commitment led to her rapid ascent through the enlisted ranks. She earned a bachelor's degree in social work and quickly followed that by completing a master's degree in human resources management. Over her distinguished 33-year career, Paulette achieved the highest enlisted rank of Seargent Major, serving in various capacities, including as the Heath Services Branch Force Sustainment Division Sergeant Major. Her exceptional meritorious service during Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan earner her the Bronze Star Medal, and her overall dedication was recognized with the Legion of Merit. Following her military retirement, Paulette, continued her commitment to public service, offering her leadership to the United States Department of Transportation and the National Institutes of Health, as well as an instructor at Strayer University, teaching business classes. Despite the demands of her military career, Paulette was the leader of the Smith family and a devoted mother. Her fierce independence and enduring strength shone through in her roles as a wife, mother, and grandmother. She cherished moments spent on cruises, spoiling her grandchildren, and dedicating her time to singing and serving her church. Paulette's legacy will live on in the countless lives she touched with her love, kindness, and unwavering push for excellence.
